As a child, one of my favorite activities was creating at the kitchen table with my mom, sister, and friends. My mother would introduce different art techniques to us and we would spend hours on end creating. I am ever so thankful for those experiences.

NEW YORK MOMENT:
Many years ago, I met a senior art director from Martha Stewart while attending a live taping of the MARTHA show. It was the annual halloween episode and I created handmade costumes for all of my friends. Post-show the director asked to photograph my creations and offered me a freelance job with the crafts department on the spot. After reviewing the drawings in my portfolio they encouraged me to illustrate children's books. I took the offer as a sign. After many conversations with family and an idea that combined my interests in visual art, performance, and teaching - my first children's book Crafterina was soon published.
